#51 Save all pictures, then delete myspace.

Breaking up with Myspace has been one of the most irritating and exhausting things I've had to deal with in the past few weeks.

Once upon a time, I signed up for a Myspace account using my xxxxx@fsu.edu, e-mail address (provided to me by one of the finest institutions of higher learning, Florida State University, when I was a freshman in 2004). I've casually used it, mainly to supplement my FaceBook creeping, for the past 6 years. I recently decided to delete the account since it's become more of a liability than an asset in the "grown up"/ job searching world.

This I soon realized would be no easy task.

I started by just following the directions and trying to delete the account.

After being bombarded with, what seemed like 500 different ways to ask the same question, "Are you SURE you want to delete the account?", I found out that a message would be send to the e-mail address I used to originally start the account and I would need to send a response....................................the account that was closed by FSU 2 semesters after graduation.

No problem, I'll just change the e-mail address on the account, and have the message sent to my new address.

YEAH FREAKIN' RIGHT!!!!

I put in all the new contact info, press enter..........and................."A message will be sent to your original address, please respond and the contact address will be changed (not Myspaces words- just me regurgitating it, but you get the jyst of it)". Thus bringing me back to our original problem............IT'S GONE!!! THE ADDRESS NO LONGER EXISTS!!! WHY IS IT SO HARD?!?!? I JUST WANT MYSPACE OUT OF MY LIFE SO I CAN CHECK OFF #51. Save all pictures, then delete myspace.!!!

After about an hour of messing around on their site (which is more time than I've spent on there in the last 3 years) I had a mini freak out, and had to regroup. The following e-mail was sent to the IT department at FSU:

Hi there,
My name is Kylie M______, I was a student at Florida State from 2004-2008 and my FSUID was XXXXX@fsu.edu.

I understand that the e-mail address associated with my user ID was closed after my graduation. I am currently trying to delete a myspace account that was created using the closed address, apparently it is going to be imposable to delete the account with out access to the previously mentioned FSUID.

Is there any way I could have access to the address, or something so that I may delete the myspace account?

Thank you,
Kylie M________

I got an auto response from the help desk pretty much telling me that if I'm not a student or faculty or if my problem does not directly relate to financial aid I will have to wait until September 15th for my request to be addressed.

Yesterday I deleted one by one, every picture(after I saved them all) , comment, blog, and friend, I changed all the info to blank, I changed the name to "0", and put up a beautiful new picture, and I am now considering #51 accomplished.
New Myspace Profile Pic.

I chose a zombie picture, because that's what I'm considering the account, not quite completely alive but apparently not dead either.

CALIFORNIA knows how to party...............

This weekend J. and I are headed out of the desert for a trip to sunny California!!

We're spending tonight in Hollywood with some of my all time favorite people.

The lovely Ashley B. and Mr. Matt are recent transplants from Tallahassee to LA. They're part of the Proud Pit bull Parent Pack.

Baby Dog Dexter

SISTERS!!!!!!

Ashley S., Catherine, and I are Alpha Chi Omega sisters. They moved to LA when we moved to Las Vegas, and it has been AWESOME having such good friend so close.

Is it bad that all of my favorite people in LA are from FSU?!

After a Florida Filled Friday, we are headed out to the Volkswagen show in Buelton. Where Buelton is, I have no idea. But I have heard that they put on a damn good Dub show.

J.'s current ride.

Former projects.

The only thing that could make this weekend better, would be if Miss Kalen was joining us!

Beach Dreamin'......

This week (apparently) marks a mile stone for Gulf Coast.

After more than 100 days of oil spilling into our beautiful Gulf of Mexico and washing up on to our pristine sugar white beaches, the "Static Kill" has finally stopped the flow.

The one thing I miss more than any thing about living in Florida (other than my amazing family and friends) is the beach. And then, all tied for close second are raw oysters, Diesel Fuels, fresh gulf shrimp, Bushwacker Fest (which happens to be going on this weekend), mullet tosses, Bands on the Beach, Blue Angle weekend, white sand.............................................................

Here's just a peak of what we have waiting for us back home

There's there are few things better in this world than wasting an entire weekend sitting on that soft white sand, and staring at the beautiful blue water. Throw in a few BushWachers and a dozen raw oysters and one might even mistake it for heaven.

# 12. Try 100 different beers (2/100)

This past weekend at a friends birthday party, and with the help of my friend Steve who offered up this lovely bottle of Biere Darbyste, I took one more step towards completing #12 on the list.

The beer is called Biere Darbyste and it's my by the Brasserie de Blaugis brewery in Belgium.
I couldn't really find much info about the beer or the brewery, and looks like the site is under construction.

My friends Ashley (L), Steve (M) and I (R), participating in the beer tasting.

Steve, I told you that you'd make it on here!!

And the lovely Miss Alyssa modeling the bottle.

50 Great Voices.

Starting this past January on NPR , every Monday Morning Edition, is featuring 1 of their 50 Great Voices.

As any one who knows me personally is well aware of, I am NOT in any way, shape, or form a Monday (or a morning) person, but this feature has become my favorite part of the Monday morning commute to work.

This morning, it was Biggie Smalls turn.

Mr. Smalls has long been on the top of most lists when it comes to respect and recognition of the hip hop greats, but it was great to hear him make it on to this list too.

Some of my other favorites from the past few months.

Janis Joplin
The Queen of Rock

The Voice as Weapon

The Crown Prince of Reggae

The Many Voices of Lauryn Hill

# 12. Try 100 different beers (1/100)

Last night Mr. J. and I went to the Revolver Lounge at the Santa Fe Station with some friends. I'm not really sure what the deal was, but it was something with Dave and Mahoney and their DAM Morning Show on X 107.5.
Either way, it was $2 entry, I got 2 free drink vouchers, $3 Stone Levitation Ales & (the icing on the cake for J.) $2 PBR tall boys!!!

Anyone who knows my boyfriend knows that when happy hour includes PBR's you can put money that J. will be there!!!!

While there, I got to start working on # 12 Try 100 different beers.
I liked it. It's dark and has a pretty malty taste to it. Would be a little too heavy for your regular drinking, but definitely worth it to cross off the list!
These are the lovely folks we met up with at Revolver, Ben & Sabrina.
Before leaving, J. just HAD to see the Harley and even politely asked if he could start it.....I have a feeling I'm going to come home to a bike in the garage one of these days.
You cant really see it in this picture and the pictures I took were terrible, but that disco ball right there is an armadillo!!!!!
Just the giant glittery armadillo spinning from the ceiling was worth the trip over there!!!

17. Learn to play chess.

As I mentioned before, at the garage sale this weekend I picked up a brand new glass chess set and Learn to play Chess in 30 minutes.

Monday night I had my 1st official chess lesson. After dinner J. taught me some of the basics and he then proceeded to mercilessly kick my butt!

The next 2 nights have looked similar. We start the game, I gain a little confidence, make a few clever moves and then BAM....he beats me again! Just like that!

I'm going to need a bit more practice before I can beat Chess Master J., but I think it's safe to say #17 Learn to play chess, is off the list.

Before the chess lesson , J. did humor me by playing a few games of Mancala, which I know he hates, during dinner.

And he totally beat me at that too!!! Both times!! I couldn't believe it!

I was shocked by how much my mad mancala skills have diminished in the past 2 years. When I was going to school in FL, one of my best buds and I would literally spend hours before, between and after class in her dorm room playing this game.

I'm definitely going to have to refresh my self on the mancala rules , and try and plan out some strategy for a rematch!
